Bio
Roy Shapira (b. 1979, Jerusalem) is a figurative and perceptual painter based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
With about 25 years of experience, Shapira has dedicated his career to the practice and teaching of painting.
His work is process-oriented, focusing on perceptual representation and the exploration of figure and form.
He has exhibited internationally in both solo and group shows, including in Germany, Israel, Italy, and the Netherlands. His work has been featured at notable galleries such as Art-Space Gallery (Jerusalem, Israel), Newtownbarry House Gallery (Bunclody, Ireland), and Kunstverein (Elmshorn, Germany).
In addition to his artistic practice, Shapira teaches drawing, painting and Hebrew calligraphy, currently leading courses at the Jüdische Gemeinde Frankfurt.
